Crop an image to a circle
I built this page for round profile pictures. Choose an image, place the circle, and download a PNG with transparent corners.
Your picture stays on your device. PNG, JPG, WebP and AVIF work.
Drag on the picture to place the circle. With the picture focused, the arrow keys move it, plus and minus resize it, and Shift moves ten times as far.

How it works, and what stays on your device
I built this on your browser's canvas. The picture is cropped on your device and never uploaded, and the page makes no request that carries it.
Drag on the picture to place the circle, or focus the picture and use the arrow keys to move it. The plus and minus keys and the size slider change the size. An arrow key moves the circle by about 1% of the shorter side, and Shift moves it ten times as far.
The circle stays inside the picture, so it can be at most as wide as the shorter side. The PNG is as many pixels wide as the circle is in the original, with no scaling, and everything outside the circle is transparent.
Frequently asked questions
Is my picture uploaded?
No. The picture is cropped in your browser and never leaves your device. I do not receive it, and the page makes no request that carries it.
Are the corners transparent?
Yes. The PNG has an alpha channel, everything outside the circle is transparent and the edge is smoothed. A JPG cannot do that, which is why I save a PNG.
Can I place the circle with the keyboard?
Yes. Press Tab until the picture is focused, then use the arrow keys to move the circle and the plus and minus keys to resize it. Shift moves ten times as far. The size slider works with the keyboard too, and the position is announced each time.
How big is the result?
As wide and as tall as the circle is in your original picture, measured in pixels. I do not scale it, so a larger circle gives a larger file.
Which image formats work?
PNG, JPG, WebP and AVIF.
